I was in a pet shop the other day, and checked out one of there tanks, and saw a huge Gibbiceps, it was around 40 - 45cm, and was in something like a 30gallon, kind of sad, that thing was a beast, must have been above 12cms wide. Im playing with the idea of getting it for my 150gallon cichlid tank, its only 55cm wide however, i mean its better than the 40 - 45cm wide 30 gallon. Would it also be able to agree with my Frontosas? Im just playing with the idea, those things must also really contribute to bad water quality haha.
Just playing with the idea, because it was truly so huge and good looking, but not sure.

a 150 is likely to be the best home it gets, would hate to imagine some kid taking him and putting him in another 30

Ye i know. I was standing there watching and thinking about if it could even turn, it was longer than the the tank width. What would you feed it?

I used to give mine cucumber, zucchini weighed down; stuff like that :)

They also try and steal sinking pellets and stuff, they're rather unfussy

So they are generally active at feeding time? There is one problem apart from the fact i will have to buy some big pipe or something it can use as hiding place. My bottom area in the tank is a bit crowdy, i mean my tank isnt heavily stocked, but a bit crowded at the bottom here is stats:

160x55x60cm.

4 Frontosa, one big male about 30cm, and 2 about 20 and one a bit smaller.
3 Raphael Catfish about 10cm, and 3 big synodontis all about 20cm, some a bit bigger.
Probaly a bit to crowded for such a big bottom dweller.

Plecos are pretty tough, they won't have an issue with the Raphael's; if its synodontis euruptus, they can be quite hard on plecs though from my experience.

Can't speak for frontosa's, haven't kept them yet :)

Quite honestly I'd probably try the plec, if it doesn't work you could re-home him

Thanks. Its one Eupterus, one hybrid, and then one unidentified one, all above 20cm, they can be a bit agressive towards echother other than that not really. Might try it, will think it over. My 150g is atleast alot better than that other tank its in now.

It will do fine in your tank, especially compared to a 30 gallon.
