Giant Gourami + Stingray?

Hi,
I have a 7" female motoro. Could I eventually add a giant gourami in my 200 gal. with her?
I'd buy the gourami at 2" and raise it to about 8" before adding it with the ray.

if it were me i wouldn;t risk it. giant's have a tendency to be bullies, very large/strong bullies

i tempory had my old 11" one in with my ray and he did get boistrus at times, not somthing id risk long term unless i knew that the gourami was rather mellow and rserved.

I had one with rays and a frt, left the ray alone but bullied the frt.

Even though its a personable fish, it wasn't worth risking.

you can do that and really Watch them for a bit... and if the GG seems to have an aggressive behavior towards the ray... then just remove it. if not.... Congrats!

I had 2 gg's (a white and a gray one) with my ray for more than a month now in my pond, I have since gotten rid of the white one, although pretty, she was the only one who swam away when I went near the pond, kinda irritating.

The whole time they were together, I don't think either of them knew the other existed...hehe

Hi Cheetah, I just actually added a 5" FRT to my pond that has a 8" ray and a foot long Gray Giant Gourami. The GGG has never as much as even looked at the ray, but the first day that I threw in the FRT, it was kinda shoving it around and pecking on it--not too hard mind you, more of like a feeling out peck.

I have observed closely on the 2nd and 3rd day and it seems like the GG has lost interest in the FRT. Any advise based on your experience?
