Giant Gourami

I don't know what is wrong with it except that on one side of it, the scales near the tail fin are bloody and the other side looks like a scale has fallen off or torn off.

I have a pleco in the tank as well, so I don't know if the pleco is the problem or if there is a parasite attacking it.

If it's the latter, what should I do?

what species is your pleco? these seem like battle scars

I'm not sure of the species, but it has kind of a mottled pattern on it.
