Would a 240 be sufficient for a Giant Gourami?

I have a 5" one on hold at the LFS, and I was planning on growing him up in my 125, and then moving him to the 240 with my rays.

Would 1 be the max that I could put in here?

They have the red tailed ones coming in next week, and I was thinking of getting 1 of them as well, and having a pair.

I think 2 would be grossly pushing it though.

When he is all grown up . its going to be tight for him.
here are 2 pictures of mine and my tank is 10.5 ft i feel like its too small for him.

the turtle in the back weight 1.3 kg you do the math.

eventually you will need a bigger tank. But thats a good thing

I will have a converted 1500 gallon tropical pond by the time grown to this size. :)

I just want to know if they would be good in it for about a yr. because the pond isn't done outside yet, so the koi can't move, so the 1500 can't be converted.

edit: what's the depth of your tank?

theres a pho restaurant where I live that has one crammed in a 100 Gallon and a fluval 205 as filtration. Feel kinda bad for it, the lady that owns the place is missing a few screws as well.

Well no worries, he's starting out in a 125 only because he's 4-5" and I don't want my rays to mistake him as a snack. Then he will get moved to the 240 once he's about 8". Then to the 1500. :)

found a pic of it i took over a year ago, saw it a few weeks back and hasnt gotten any bigger. water looked kinda dirty.

Oh man, he looks so bad. :( very unhappy.

We all know bigger is better. But th two of them will be okay fully grown.
