he is finally acting like a normal motoro. he is easting every time i put food in. his hip bones have disappeared. he is starting to fatten up. the fungus like tufts are almost gone.

however, im getting cold feet about putting him in my main tank. he is a biiiiiiigggggg boy and will be bigger than 3 of the 4 females in the tank. he is also more than twice the size of the other MATURE male marble in the large tank. i dont know if its going to work. i dont want him to kill my other male as even though he is better looking than my other male, my other male holds sentimental value to me as i have raised him since he was a weee pup.

also, ive seen the damage my little mature male can do on the females. i can only imagine what this big guy can do to the females if he started trying to mate and they werent interested!!

im very hesitant and scared... im almost to the point where i think he would be better off in someone elses home with larger females and a tank that doesn't already have 7 other rays in it!

what should i do!!???!?!?

I would at least try it. He is quite the looker. It would be hard to part with him for me.
When/if you do it make sure it is when you have time to spend watching and keeping
an eye on everything.

Try it, and watch him close, maybe do it on a weekend that you will be home most of the time. That way you can react in a second if you have to. He's very lucky to have someone who cared so much to get him back in top shape :) Congrats

deff try it. its a 50 50 shot

u never know, they might get along fine

like everyone else said "be ready"

damage happens when breeding, its the chance u take. thats why i got my extra 250 gal so i can seperate males when the females need a break

Gotta at least try CHICKEN!!! - lol

GO MONSTER and be ready to remove him if any damage occurs. Just be home for observation for a few hours once you add him....

Trade him to me for the good of the hobby. I have 4 females that are 14+ some up to 18 and another right at 14. My biggest male might be 12. I'd even work you a deal on pups in the event he hooks up with one of my ladies. Check out Spotfin's avatar for an idea on quality of could be mothers. It would be more beneficial to Marble captive breeding sending it here then anywhere else.

very good job! Looks great. Be careful with him and the small friends, I would try and watch him closely for several days. Even if he bites it should not be fatal and you could act immediately.

Try it and see what happens, just be ready to remove him if necessary. He is a very nice marble. Maybe he won't be aggressive.

X6. Just try it...you never know. My biggest female (15in) is the largest of all my rays and doesn't bother anyone with the smallest ray in that tank being 10in! My smallest female in my big tank (13in) harasses everyone!:nilly:

How big is he anyway?
