You should watch it very good, to see what character yours has.
Mine had 22inch (sold it) and did eat or let´s say "test-bite" everything, even a huge group of 8-12inch Frontosas he ate, he just bited them in half !!!
He was not agressive, he did just like to "test-bite" everything.
Smaller cichlids like Malawis or Tanganijkas he didn´t catch, but everything over 4-6inch was pretty unsafe.

He's pretty good. He so far destroyed a giant pleco but he deserved it. However, he is opposite of your old one. He only eats small fish that are under 4"
The red fish is a female red dragon flowerhorn.
