Could I put a giant musk turtle with a res? I can get a small medium or big musk. Would any size work?

keep em around the same size

Really? I would have thought the musk should be smaller as the eat turtles.:D

I wouldn't put Giant Musks in with RES due to musk/mud turtle aggressiveness(or the possibility of them becoming aggressive towards the RES when they get bigger).

i had em together b4... they were fine

i wouldnt risk it giant musks are sturdy and very capable predators. its not worth the risk to the RES in my opinion. What unnecessary risks work for some may not work for others. I've kept common snappers with RES in out door ponds but i'd never do so in an indoor tank due to proximity to one another.

Giant musk turtles are gorgeous species with a great deal of personality and typically a horrible temper (and a helluva bite if you're not fast enough, the big female left me bruised and cursing for awhile).

It is an outdoor pond. 142 gallons. I just don't want my RES getting hurt.

A 142 gallon pond wouldn't be enough space to keep them out of each others' way. Do you have enough room to set up a seperate enclosure for some Giant Musks?
