what kind of limpet is this and is it reef safe? two came in on my live rock the same size as the normal little tiny guys but have quickly grown and are well over an inch, and very very fast. please help quick cause i want to put rock in my tank tonight and it is almost impossible to get them off of anything, last time i tried the big one actually pulled a piece of rock off with him

thanks for the reply!
they definitely do a good job on the algae!
but youre sure they're reef safe? does your tank have lot of algae to keep them full? are yours almost 1.5" ?
i'm surprised mine haven't reproduced like the little ones do, have yours?

There is little info to be had on limpets, I would say keep an eye on them, they can be ominvours with a taste for corals, but others are strict herbs, so if they look like they are spending to much time on corals then they need to be removed.
