Giant plecos at Henry Doorly Zoo!

Coolest zoo plecos I saw were at the aquarium in Baltimore Inner Harbor. They had a HUGE watermelon royal w/long odontodes, a Scarlett & a gold nugget. All of them were about 2' in length though. Monsters indeed.
I have seen 16 inch GN for sale. I think snookn has some for sale about a year and half ago. Our zoo has some monster commons plecos too. Also they have some xingu royals that are about 10 inches that are awesome! They also have black sting rays with white polka dots that are at least 12 inches around. 3 or 4 of them. They are super sweet too!
I'm not saying it wasn't a goldie as I'm not super keen on the differences and spotting them. I get them confused regularly so I'm not going to argue that at all. I should see if I can find the pictures I took of them for ID just to know. I couldn't believe how big they were though.
Yeah, it was. The pics weren't fantastic with my camera phone and really didn't do them justice but in person they were awesome specimens. It was funny that I was so excited and everyone around me was trying to see what I say and I'm looking at sucker fish on the bottom of an otherwise exotic tank full of water dwelling critters. lol
