Giant red tail gourami not eating

just wondering what you guys feed yours as mine dos not want to eat thought they where meant to eat anything . he is also very timid is this normal and will it change ...

Are you overfeeding? Timid is normal when they are small or new. Feed as per normal tropical fish. ie any popular/recommended commercial fish food but sparingly since overfeeding is the biggest killer of fish.

If its not eating, a floating pellet is a good idea since you can see how much it is not eating and its easy to remove. Sometimes a dither fish tankmate can help with shyness and teaching how to eat.
