Have any of you ever thought about this? A giant piece of sandpaper for a background, I think it would look pretty cool kind of like a riverbank. Do they even sell giant pieces of sand paper? Thanks

scratch city....

well if you put it behind the tank it wouldnt hurt anything. and yes they do make them for machines like timesavers, planers, etc. but in the end it will cost you a few pretty pennys as they are made to be VERY durable which is a trait you will not use at all.

you would be better off using spray adhesive and sand

oh I didn't think of all of the scratches, thanks guys for your opinions it seems like it would be a really bad idea.

Planers use blades not sand paper...

Some have sandpaper. I was making walnut planks at my one job and the owner had us using a sand planer. Iv never seen so much dust with 50 18"x10' planks :(

and imo sandpaper would look cool, but it would just be sitting behind the glass and not "in" the glass like a squeegeed on back ground would.

must of been a big waste of time as well...

what you could do to limit if not eliminate scratches is laminate the sand paper with surranwrap or atleast the front of it and that should fix the problem and if done right you wont even notice the surranwrap...
