I got a feeling ancient life is finding its way into our oceans through meteors....After crashing into the sea ground, the "alien" organisms then disperse into the sea...Once acclimated, evolution takes place....Depending on whether or not the alien race is "gifted" in generating its bodily form under water is one thing....But if they can manage the climate this earth has, the ocean is the smartest and most secretive place to colonize.....

not a chance

several problems with that

upon entering the atmosphere that rock is insinerated. nothing would survive coming into the atmosphere, that rock crashes into this planet completely sterile.

adding to that: traveling a GREAT distance in the Icy cold vaccum of space.

not possible.
