Giant Siamese Carp...

Anyone got any info about this fish? I just got it..

ah! those are called siamese big-headed carp. as with all carp, they eat and **** alot. rumoured to be filter feeders too...bt this is unconfirmed. get very beautiful when big.....can grow to at least 70 cm or more. needs warm water.

Hearsay they are quite sensitive to bad water. Not sure how true is that???

It's true. They come from clear,fast-flowing rivers at the foot of the himalaja. Bad water results in sure death.

This threads pretty old OP may not even have them any more. Catlocarpio siamensis are not Mahseers. They don't come from clear fast flowing water of the Himalaya. They come from the Mekong river and can be found in ponds swamps and canals. There not that sensitive to water conditions in the sense they are not that hard to keep. At least for me there not I do nothing special.. Define bad water. Polluted? most fish would die in polluted water. I got 4 of them around 4" size about 2 years ago. There around 9-14" now.
