Hey guys. Just wanna know if you can put a Giant Snakehead at 9-10" with spotted gars at 7-8". If this combo doesn't work should i get a tank divider and wait till the gars grow bigger? Help please, don't wanna lose a gar or a Snakehead.

I can't really see that working out.. at all..
the snakehead is bigger than the gar as it is.. the snakehead grows much faster and bigger than the gar so there is really no way for you to close the size gap between them..
gars are pretty easily spooked, prone to breaking their backs, not very aggressive feeders.. If you were to feed the channa and the gar the channa wouldn't let the gar have any until it was full itself and that would also increase the size difference..
oh, I'm usually one of the guys who are positive towards keeping channa with other fish but this I just don't happening unless you have THE nicest (I'm talking miss universe-peace on earth nice) channa in the world..

atm the gars seem to be hogging all the feeders, the GSH only eats once every 3 days, plus the gars seem to be dominate over the snakehead but thats because hes the new guy in the tank and will get used to him. My gars grow at a rate of 1.5" every 2 weeks.
If what your keeping matches the description of Channa Micropeltes, then I'd advise against it. You'd be better off with Maruliodes or Pleurophthalma.

The thing is, i hear that many people think its a suitable combo. Tell me if there is a situation in which a gar/giant snakehead combo went wrong. I keep them all well fed to keep aggregation at bay.
From just what I know, Snakeheads will eventually kill, they are vicious fish, Gars have a different style of feeding, I think the snakehead will eventually be hogging the food, then turn on the Gars, if it works though I would love to see pics of this set up, Snakeheads and Gars are some of my favorite fish
