Hi guys,
I'm new to the site but I wanted to see how many people keep giant snakeheads in the UK and what size they were?
I have been keeping them for a few years now, started out with 3. 2 of these were tank jumpers and unfortunately met their maker with my front room floor but the third is well over 2 foot now.
I now have a couple of smaller ones in a different tank that I'm growing on. I just wondered ow other people were gettting on with them and I'm looking for inspiration for housing them. Mine is currently in a 7ft tank and I'm looking at getting a very large steel rigid paddling pool to house him in ready to go in after Christmas.
He's an absolutely gorgeous fish and definitely an interesting character and nowhere near as vicious as people say, he's my gentle giant :-)
Any advice on housing and /or pics welcome

they are definitely misunderstood. I have kept them a few times with no success. They have great character, plucky, full of energy and great eaters (never got past 14 inches). From what I've seen and heard, people say from 6x2 to 8x2 to keep them in a tank. I would prefer to keep them in a tank where they can be seen. But an indoor pond would be great. Netting might be a good idea incase of jumping. Do you you have some photos of your biggest one? It would be great to see adult photos, they aren't often seen.
