Wow that looks like it would make a nice pet!! It seems pretty hardy!

hmm reminds me of a trilobyte or a horshoe crab or something.. maybe similar family of ancient invert? =^_^=

Not closely related to horseshoe crabs or trilobites, they are close to arachnids (spiders) the giant triops is closely related to brine shrimp, fairy shrimp and clam shrimp.
