now i dont want one, as i could not house it im just curious, certainly have never seen or heard of one in the uk, but are they about.... paddle fish are illegal and they were offered about last summer so has anyone seen heard, now of any giga's?

exactly, i mean if i found a public aquarium that wanted a large specimen and they would take i may consider growing it out or i had a good size swimming pool as a tank.... but if paddle fish are getting sold... i too would love a paddle fish, but again... its just nuts...
thou 1 of them 12' across, 2.5' deep round blue plastic koi tanks could work for either, i suppose heated... thou paddle fish would only really need it to be inside and the room at a constant temp... i would consider it if i saw either just cos i can only imagine the nob's that normally buy these fish with no clue or some stupid attitude and the old it wont get that big approach....
There was an aquarium down the road from me that had one but it outgrew their tank and they got rid of it, dont know where it is now but ti was 12ft long when they got rid of it.
it would need some serious heating equipment though

Like Davo said, I'm sure there are a few out there, just unpublicized. Who knows, the tank at that aquarium that it was in is huge so it goes to show how big you need to go to house one properly
