Gill Curl Treatment

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Of coarse it will look better but never be totally good as new ...it can look good tho ...

Depends. As for the actual gill plate, no, it will not grow back. As for the Soft part of the gill, I would like to say no as well. It's always better to cut the gills BEFORE it starts curling the gill plate. But, then again, I have NEVER seen a Pbass with gill curl.

I think your right on both counts Hayn the broko's that i recieved the smaller one with the clover tail markings his curl is so heavy it's almost like calust skin and a heavy 1/16th outside the plate once i get them feeling a bit better i will cut that off and see what happens .On all my p's to this point that i have raised not only have i not seen any gill curl but i have never seen the soft membrane part stick out this far either .So it's possable they might look somewhat normal....One thing i am afraid of until they get a little meat on there bones is killing them by taken them out and stressing them thats' why i am waiting a bit ..But i gotta tell ya these little guys must be tuff cuz they must have went through the ringer for sure ...

I seen your Hulon. It don't look that bad from the picture/s. You still might have a chance of saving the gill my massaging it. I have never did it with Pbass, but I did do it with a couple catfish.
