is gill curls really bad for a Jar???

sumone is offering me a 14" jar with gill curl.

should i get it ???
is it treatable???

Do you have a pic? Gill curl is bad. Stage 1 can be treated with ease.....past that, when the hard gill cover itself is curled in most cases only surgery can cure it...Diagnosis is as easy as a pic of said fish...

sry the guy wont provide me with pixs but i have seen the jar myself. the tips of its gills are slightly curved. not too noticeable.

well i've read somewhere that you can actually cut the gill after sedating the fish..it will grow back w/ some anti fungus medication, high water quality, melafix, salt and a bit of high temp..it will take time though..considerable longer time than fins..

if thats the case then righting water quality will reverse it.

SURGERY IS YOUR VERY LAST RESORT!!! NEVER EVER EVER IS IT YOU FIRST!!!

surgery is treating it

fixing the water quality is the cure.

Treated and cured are past tense synonymous in the context in which they were used..........
