It seems my RTC has significant gill curl on both sides. I have dealt with arowanas before and this was a common yet undesirable occurance. Has anyone else experienced this, and what do you think i should do about it ? Thanks for any input!
I really don't have any good answers for ya, as I have never delt with it first hand..
Is it from possible ammonia burn.. I have also heard that soft-water fish can have gill irritation due to hardness in the water? I don't know..
I would say extra water changes and a little added aquarium salt, to hopefully alleviate any stresses.. Hopefully someone more versed in fish diagnosis can help you with this one..
What does your water quality look like? I've seen it before. It was always stress related in some fashion.....huge temp swing, prolonged loss of D.O. or something along those lines.

I don't know that I agree with that. I have a 75gal that dosen't have temp swings and water quality is always A1 and all of the snooks have some gill curl and none of the other fish in the tank have any problem.
I got the snooks very small at auction and I fibbure that the breeder knew they had a problem even though I missed it.
