Gill problem

My baby black arowana had a huge opening in his gills.

I can see a very red from inside the gill. Is there anyway I can help him out?

So far, what I did is just do a 50% water change in 3 days, no medication involve.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading.

your water ... it could be low oxygen, or the water is too hot or just too cold
increase your aeration n keep wc 25% everyday for a week
no need medication
