Hello, i purchased a giraffe catfish about 4 months ago and hes still kicking. However he has never been too good about eating. I have him in with a redtailed catfish and an albino channel cat and two silver dats. they usually eat everything in sight before he has a chance to eat. His fins seem to be getting shredded also which concerns me and hes just not real active. I was able to get him to eat beef heart a while back and a little bit of shrimp pellets. Should i move him to another tank?? i do have a 90 gallon set up but nothings in it and its not cycled. i was also wondering if i should move the dats out of that tank too in fear of the redtail eating them?? The redtail hasnt even eaten the comets in his tank and theyve been there for months.... i did add the comets and the dats before the redtail was introduced though. Any input would be apreciated thanks.

Ok... well the RTC will get around to the Comets and Dats when it's ready, as for the Giraffe I would get that 90 G cycled (seed the filter with some of the media from the current tank to help give you a kick start, use the water from a water change in the current tank as well... if there are any decorations in the current tank take half of them and put in the 90 while it's setting up it would help to cycle faster) and get it in there ASAP... keep up on the water changes and allow it to take the time it needs to eat...

thanks for the input. you dont think that its possible the redtailed cat wont eat the dats or comets ?? hes clearly large enough to do it now. Ive heard stories about predator fish not eating feeders etc that were in the tank before them for some odd reason.
