I have recently purchased a yellow giraffe catfish of around 4 inches and have yet to see it eat. It has been in the growout tank for around 2 weeks now and only seems to move at night. Any strategies on getting it to eat? Should I be concerned that it hasn't eaten yet? It is a beautiful fish and I really do not want to lose it.

Drop food in after aquarium light goes off and see if the Giraffe Catfish eats.

Yellowcat Yellowcat Kirk, what's the species you think? Looks like your dwarfs, the Auchenoglanis biscutatus.

Yup, it's an a. biscutatus, AKA "Yellow Giraffe Catfish" @ Wetspot Tropical Fish, same place I got my three. Mine only feed in darkness as well, like most all my cats. Noticeable is the light coloration compared to mine likely due to light substrate and a well lit tank. Mine are much darker with never any lights and darker gravel substrate. Nice to have a giraffe cat species that remain small! Mine stay hidden for the most part during the day but curious how their behavior may be different in a well lit community tank, possibly being less shy and reclusive I hope...

Nice catfish, and I know it's the focus of this thread so I hate to de-rail...but what is that other fish in the pic? The striped one?
