Hi guys and gals,
do you think that a giraffe catfish will be ok in a 60 gallon?
it is 17 inches wide and 40 long.
:feedback:
Thanks

No. I am no expert in girafe catfish, but I know that they can reach 20" so 60g would definitely be out of the question. You can use it to grow out the catfish (like I think you are doing with the clown knife and aro in your signature), but expect to move all those fish including the aro and knife in a much larger tank within a year. Arowana would require imo at least 180g when adult size, knife more and girafe close to 180g too for a minimum...

Those are large fish, you need a proper tank to house them.

You may want to try a dwarf giraffe cat instead. Giraffe cats get 24"+.

OK thanks, cyclop im not gonna get a arowana any more im gettin a teacup sting ray, will that still get to big remember my tank is 17 wide bow front to 18.5.
Thanks :)

teacup is a laymens term to describe the size of a stingray pup, most likely the ray is a retic..

ps. the giraffe cat gets huge, yout tank is too small for both fish

sorry dude

itd be ok for a month or two IMO but they need atleat a tank thats 24" wide Min

a tank size of about 8ftx2ft wide would be a good home for a giraffe catfish, our LFS has a fully grown one in this size tank and thay wouldnt sell unless you have a tank size for this fish, the tank might be bigger in the shop but i know this cat needs big tanks
