I have found some girrafe cats that are 2-3" for £30, I plan to buy one for my display tank that s 8x2x3.
Any tips on growth rate, feeding etc
i am planning on 4 blue dempseys and a few other fish as tank mates
filtration is a pressurised pond filter for rated for 1000 gallons with uv steraliser.
plus post you pics if youve got one!

Hi i have a Giraffe Cat, i feed him/her fishy foods like prawn, crabstick, muscles etc. Mine was small when i first got mine and now its about a foot long, possibly a little more. I wouldn't say that it has a very fast growth rate when compared with fast growers as i have had it for about 2 years now. Great character but can be a bit territorial. If i were you, i would put the Dempseys in first, then the giraffe(s).

Mine is about 6" long and fights with my two 5" RTC's all the time. I just had to seperate them before it got too ugly. Mine is VERY territorial and definately the aggressive one.

that's kinda like saying some people are very peaceful. Fish temperments can change from fish to fish. I have an Oscar who is the biggest p#ssy I have every seen. lol. He hides from the quarantined minnows that I ocassionally throw in for my Limas. He only will each chiclid pellets, and krill.

-My giraffe has gone from 4" to ~11" in 5 months.
-He is territorial with my largest clown loach and a niger cat but its fleshy mouth doesn't seem to cause any damage.
-He eats anything meaty and plenty of it.
-He is very active for a cat at all times of the day and cruises the whole bottom of the 750g as well as the mid-level when hungry.
-Very people friendly and always comes to the front to greet me/beg for food.

I highly recommend this cat if you have the room.
