I'm stumped as to what I want. Originally was going to go Peacock Mantis Shrimp or Dwarf Puffers... but now not sure.

You can give me ideas fresh or salt, I'm experienced enough to handle either.

Just please no "common" fish. I'm just not interested in Neon Tetras or something tiny (dwarf puffers are the exception).

Thanks!

Nano reef!!!!

Ha, before reading the OP - I was thinking dwarf puffs too.
OK:
Nano reef
Puffer tank
Planted
Planted dwarf/threadfin rainbows
30 glowfish
Shell dweller tanganyikas
How about a Dart Frog tank with plants and a little pool with some guppies and a small waterfall (easy to make)??
A bunch of tetras and cories
With the right lighting a saltwater clam tank (advanced upkeep)

Hmm, that's it for now.

I've been really interested in the dart frogs but I am unsure of how to mod the Biocube to make it into the vivarium.

3 or 4 Red Cherry Shrimp, with lots of plants of different colors. Black or white substrate, to make everything POP! And maybe a snail or two that don't eat plants.

Ventilation and lighting/heat, I am not sure about.
Designing it isn't too bad. I started a DF project and kayboshed it because I just couldn't spend the time on care.

So basically here is how it goes (for me at least)
-Gravel - not too fine
-Rocks and plants - design how you want
-Substrate design - make it pretty high on the right and low (kind of like a bowl) to hold the water.
-Buy a reptile type pump (I don't remember what I purchased) and I buried it in a part of the gravel, behind decorations, because when you fill the tank with water (for the little basin) water still seeps into the gravel. In my case, -I positioned it so that I still got alot of water pumped out.
-I then took a tube and attached it to the pump (make sure you match up the diameter with the pump output part so it's a snug fit)
-I ran it up and behind a piece of rock I bought that looked like a slide (pretty cool)
-I took silicone and attached the end of the pump hose to the back of the top of the slide -- I adjusted the output (higher or lower) of the pump so the water went up a bit and slid down the slide into the water basin.
-From there you decorate (moss, rocks, wood, plants, etc)

That's about it!
With more research it may be explained better. I hybridized the explanation with my experience.

Let us know what you choose.

I am actually really interested in setting up a DF habitat. I may do this, still thinking about it for now.

All suggestions still welcome!
