The house got hit my lighting and burnt out a bunch of stuff including the power supplies for these things. They were neat for a while, but I'm not going to buy new power supplies as they were expensive and I don't want to have to go through this again in the future. So now building an all E26 replacement setup.

Anyhoo... any one want the strips themselves? They're all 5050 300LED's... a couple blue, red, green and several warm white and several cool white. I would imagine that the strips themselves are probably okay. You would need a power supply for them.

Lemme know.

How much did you spend on the power supplies? I run my entire fish room on one (approx. 48') and only use one driver. I think I only paid $24 for that one.

On DIY LEDs I use those 9 volt converter/power supplies that charge phones or other electronic stuff, the ones that are usually thrown away when you get a different cell phone, or new gizmo.

Hey Pharaoh. I had a thread about them when I first set them up... the little individual chinese AC adapters they come with are complete crap and IMO serious fire hazards. (ultimately, over half of them blew on their own.. the rest ran super hot, like on the verge of blowing and/or already melting the housing) This made me look for a safer alternative.

So I went with a few solid state power supplies from superbrightleds.com . Their stuff did seem way overpriced but figured it meant some decent stuff. I bought 2 600watt units that ran 8 strips each, and then 1 100watt for the daily primary lights. It was around $700 for all 3 of them.

Now I'm done with any light that can't plug into a normal E26 socket. I also wonder what the electrical loss overhead is on running lights with power supplies.... they seem to burn a lot of heat just stepping down the voltage.
