Giving girls a rest

Hi

I have 3 female motoros that are currently pregnant (all 3 showing early stages of movement). One of the girls is a first time mother the other two have both had a batch of pups each. All three girls are siblings and are 17months old.

All are 15 - 17".

I am planning on giving the three girls a rest after this lot of pups, and keep the male away from them, as he tries to mate them immediately.

What is an acceptable time frame to give them off breeding?

A month is not really a rest is it

If its a rest from breeding I think it should be 3-4 months min 6 would be better

I would rest them for 3 months and fatten them up really well. This is good for both the rays and your next batches which will be bigger if females are fatter.

A month is plenty of time in the wild they don't get any time off. And if done right in a month they will be 100% again. This is how I have been doing it for a long time now.
