Hello mates!! I know it has been quiet some time now since the last time I have posted on here, doubting anyone has missed me. Here is the story. Last year we had our rain gutter in the back of our house fill up full of water due to the melting snow here in wisconsin. I was at school and came home to water about 1/2" through out my basement. I rush to my fish tanks only to see one fish alive, my 12" red devil <3. The water hit my power strips and broke the breaker and shut everything off =[.
I will miss my africans dearly and my 11 year old jd ='[ and my lil buddy the mini monster 13" pb.
To the point of why I am posting this is I shut down my setups due to me being heart broken to the disaster that happened. We put the red devil in a 45 alone and have had my 135 and 150 empty unfilled. I have this past week filled both tanks to check for leaks and none.
I gladly announce I am coming back into the great hobby of fish keeping. I am going to start slower and just stock my 150. The problem is I am going to put it on the first level of my house but I am scared that the floor will collapse. I was thinking of driving over to home depot and picking up 4 floor jacks to stabilize the load baring wall I am putting the tank on. Do you think that will solve the problem and keep it from caving in??
Last but not least I think I have chosen what I want in the 150. How does two large oscars and lung fish sound?? I have heard that anything small enough to be food for a lung fish will be food but I have a buddy looking to get rid of some rather BIG oscars. I'm open to any other great stocking ideas =].
Little update on what I have been doing while not fish keeping. btw still have the decal on my car =p. I have decided to study medical to become a nurse practitioner. I golf on a regular basis and sold my 1987 cutlass and 2003 srt4. I worked at abercrombie but quit due to a nursing job shadow over the summer. I have grown i am now 5'11 instead of the 5'3 that i was the last time I was on here but still managed to weight the same. I am wrestling hopefully varsity 119 this year. Wish me luck.
I wish you all the luck with fishkeeping as I hope you wish for mine. I hope I will become welcome here again in this amazingly beautiful world of fishkeeping but also the greatest fishkeeping community.
Thank you,
Daniel
