Been bouncing around and lately alot of tanks have been failing. So I gave mine a good looking over and notice something about it. The edges aren't perfectly flush. If you have a glass tank, check out the edges where the glass meets up and let me know if its perfectly flush, or there's a little over hang, enough to catch a finger nail etc. Thanks - N

I have a 135gal and the corners are not perfectly flush. I don't see it really causing any integrity issues...

Ok cool, after seeing all these tanks break I'm steady looking at the tank, carpet, tank, carpet, thanks - N

It's normal to have some overhang. The important part is that the tank is PERFECTLY square, all corners being exactly 90 degrees. If the tank is square, the silicone isn't old and dried out, and the glass isn't flawed the tank should hold for many years to come.

thats sounds like a good idea for water changes alone

I've actually thought about doing that. First floor into the basement would be easy enough but 2nd floor to the basement might be a little out of my league. I guess if the tank ever blows up it'll give me an excuse to go ahead and try it - N
