Just curious to see what strategies some of you guys use to fend off attacks during water changes (particularly gravel vacs). It hurts like hell when my Amph bites my hand. Thinking of ordering some of those Aqua Gloves to absorb the impact.....lol. Share your techniques!

Super tall gravel vac! My female dovii drew blood the last few times I did w/C's, there was fry in the tank of course. she had some nasty teeth. The male didn't care so much. But there are some pretty tall gravel vacs out there. Either that or a divider.

my dovii dont bother me so much they hide in the corner and let the fry deal with it hahaha, my jags on the other hand hit the vac hard, i tend to use a net to distract them if i have my hands in the tank although they seem to know my hand isn't the vac and only bite that at the moment.

I like the divider idea. Maybe I'll try that.

I would use my neoprene diving gloves when doing work in my haitiensus tank, if I didn't they always drew blood, and especially when fry were in the tank.

I know the feeling.
