my 55g, 2 aquaclear 110s, heat at 80F, heavily planted, driftwood, 3WPG and the diet will be varied. pH is at 7.2-4.

I like the second stock list, but I would do 2 angels (just because I think they look better in pairs), and 3 Geo's. 5 adult Geo's would overcrowd a 55g.

the green terror may decide it doesn't like the plants and tear them up.

Altifrons need a much larger tank.

I personally like polys. Check out the polypterus forums.

I'd stock: 2-3 polys and snails for algae on bottom, 1 leopard ctenopoma and 5 congo tetras for top/mid, and an african butterfly at the surface.

My green terror would tear that tank apart, though mine does argue with the breeding pair of oscars next door...and me when I get close to the tank.

Depends on the fish personality but I voted for option 1. This could go wrong fast though if you get a mean ass green terror or especially nippy Giant Danio's

neither, either one is overstocked imo, and potentially a very bad combo. granted if you start the fish as juvies and raise them together and plan on upgradeing if need be (which will likely be the case) You might get lucky. But I doubt it will work in either case tbh.

seems like you plan a severum in either set-up so why not base the tank around them?
