I have been using my 20 Gal for community tropical fish I have some tetra, rosebara, guppies, 2 african frogs, beta,2 corry cats and 4 very nice glass cats
the problem is I decided I needed the 20 gal tank for my african cichlids (mostly lake victoria)
please take a look http://s440.photobucket.com/albums/qq129/mrpkm/
any way i wasnt sure what to do with the inhabitents of the 20 Gal so I dumped them in my 125 Gal african Cichlid tank thinking probobly only the corries and maybe the frogs would live.
When I checked on them the next day ofcourse the tera and the rosebora where gone, but the frogs and the beta where doing fine and much to my happy surprise the glass cats where hangin right in there with the cichlids competing over food and everything.
Happy day

Thanks for listening
Have a great weekend

while i dont necessarily agree with what he did, i tend to think what makes those fish any more important than a rosy red in the big picture of the world. i hate to see good fish go to waste though. give the guy a break.

This is true but when I buy Rosy reds I don't care for them for more than a few minutes and feed them and watch them grow. I dump them in the tank and that's it. It's kind of like feeding your pet Chihuahua to a Rottweiler.

haha i might make an exception for a chihuahua though

This is true but it's the only small dog I could think of at the time. I'm not trying to know the OP but I just can't see myself feeding one of the fish I've raised and admired to another fish without a really good reason. Feeder fish are different because you don't spend anytime with them. Oh well
