Is it ok to clean the outside of your tank with windex? I thought I rember hearing it was bad because it can get in the water or something? Or is that only if you spray it on the glass when your close to the tank? So is it ok to spray it on a a paper towel while a couple feet from the tank?

I just did that about 30 minutes ago....always have, never had a problem

i usually spray the paper towel then wipe the glass no problems yet knock on wood

I'll try it, but with my luck I will wake up tommorow and all my fish will be dead, ha

guys, i really wouldnt risk it .. windex is pure ammonia. To me, a good analogy would be playing with knives around toddlers. You might get away with it, but the risk isnt worth it.

Good old water and napkins works well for me. If you need something stronger, check this out..

I still think you would have to be really careless to destroy a tank. if you sprayed it on a paper towel, I think the chance of harming your fish is next to nothing.

I guess. Just as long as you dont spray on directly on the glass. I prefer to be on the cautious still. ;)
