I need some advice regarding a little DIY project I am doing on my 140 gallon.

I want to install a "false back pane" to create a 72" weir for my wet/dry overflow set-up.

What size gap should I leave on the newly cut piece so that it will go into my tank without stressing the side panes? I want it to fit tightly without undue stress and risk of breakage.

Any ideas?

Have it cut 2mm smaller than your inside dimensions. You want a small gap for the silicone to fill (1mm on each side).
