in my tank build i am building the dimensions of tank are 72 long 24 deep and 36 tall. does anyone have any suggestions on what thickness to use for the glass

I don't know exactly, but that 36 inch tall part is going to make the requirement more than 12mm.

i really want to go with half inch glass.

i think 1'' is probably over kill, my brother has a 265gallon 30 inches high, still only 1/4''

i call shenaningans. if it is true though, i hope you own a shop vac and some fans, it's only gonna take a bump.

my 30" tall 290 is 5/8" but it is older. i agree that 1" is way overkill.

1/2 inch?

i would go at least 5/8" if not 3/4" for 3' tall...

Remember , calculators are made to suit all glass tanks. If it is for a ply tank. The height measurement to use is from the bottom of the unframed part of the glass to the waterline. If your tank is 36" overall, the glass won't be.

31.5x66 will be the window opening so what does everyone think
