Glass knifefish

Hi has anyone ever bred them before, im interested to know if its possible

I'd be interested to know if anyone has bred any knifefish. I've got 2 BGK (in separate tanks) and would love to know how to sex them let alone breed them

Well after some research i found that glass knifefish readilly breed in captivityif you provide enough room and some plants for them to lay their eggs

But how do you sex them....?

No clue, but since they shoal i would thinl people would buy about 5 and hope for the best

Also you need to simulate the rainy season

Ah then they are very different in that sense from BGKs. BGK are slightly electric and if kept in more than one, get very territorial and aggressive toward each other. Eventually one will kill the other. I sadly found this out from experience and then later research which I should've done before hand but didn't.

I believe with bgk's you have to either have em alone or in groups of 5+
