Making a plywood tank..anyone know a good place to buy glass panels? I need 2 5x2 panels and 1 3x2 panel. 1" thick
Thanks for the help!

you don't have any local places to get that?

I know that you can order it from glass cages but I don't know if you would want to pay the shipping.

Don't know of any really, I'm located in NJ if anyone knows of a place in the area.

might not be of the greatest help but try yellowbook.com and just search for glass. that's how I found the ones around me.

Sorry that's the best I can do....

I recently bought some glass panes from glasscages. I met them at one of their drop off locations and they charged me $50 for shipping. I called local glass companies and the local companies were almost double the price glasscages quoted me.

Also, 1" thick is really thick and will have a pretty noticeable green tint to it. Do you really need glass that thick? If the tank is only going to be 24" high, then that is overkill. My tank will be 26" high and I am using regular 1/2" plate glass. Maybe you could consider 1/2" tempered glass if you need extra strength.

if your gonna buy glass for a plywood tank get 1/2" starfire...1" is really over kill and pointless.... save the money for fish :)

Thanks all!

Thanks for the advice! The plan is 12'x4'x3.5', but only filled 3'. I thought that thickness would be necessary for a taller tank like this? I'll go 3/4" or 1/2" if possible.
