I have in my possession a 5 gallon bucket full of large pieces of glass from an old PPG plant, they do have lead in the glass, and more than likely contain a small amount of arsenic (a lot of glass does) but what I'm wondering is if I can safely put these pieces of glass in my aquarium (after making all the edges smooth, so as not to cut anyone in there) without damaging any of the fish or turtles?

Personally I'd take that bucket and chuck it into my trash dumpster.

well with most fish you would be fine but I would throw it out.... is it really worth the risk....

Its possible of course but I hate the artificial & coloured look. Even if you used marbles it looks tacky IMO. Im thinking if you melted it all down in a pottery kiln, the end result would be interesting ..... but still tacky in a fish tank.

Depending on your fish species, I would be worried about fish scraping themselves open or swallowing pieces but yes its possible. Some people make a mosaic tile base ....

It's going to be a ***** to clean out. If you do use it think about sand blasting it first.
