I've got a quick question for anyone who may have experience with scratch repair on their aquarium. I'm not sure how these scratches happened inside my tank but I was wondering if anyone had any methods to get rid of them. It seems like they are the first places to pick up any algae growth and they look like crap so any help would be appreciated. Their is only a few but they are right in the front and I hate them so much. I figured if anyone would know how to pull this off would be you guys. I'll try anything. Thanks again.

I've been looking around and all I can find is people claiming glass scratch repair is impossible. Can anyone tell me if this is definitely true? Every site I find involves a debate between glass and acrylic, and I question the bias coming from the pro acrylic crowd. So far they are the only ones who mention that glass can't be repaired.

You can't repair scratches on glass in a cost effective way, your better off replacing the panel because it would end up costing about the same. Now if we are talking about a huge panel then it might be worth it. If your aquarium is under a few thousand gallons then just live with the scratches the fish made or replace that panel. One other thing, scratches in glass are usually not noticeable unless you get algae growing in the scratch. Acrylic scratches easier than glass but you can easily buff out the scratched in acrylic.

every thread Ive read online about someone trying to buff a scratch out of glass ended in failure.Eiter it didnt work at all,or they made the tank look worse.

Hey thanks for getting in there before I made the problem worse. Nothings perfect I guess, i'll just drink until the scratch goes away.
