150 gallon tank which is 6 feet long. How much weight worth of rocks can it hold???? I didn't put down any egg crate and it already has the sand in there so it would be really hard to put the egg crate down now. Do you think I could just put in two rocks, one is about 20lbs and the other is about a foot long and maybe 40 to 50 lbs and i think i overestimated that weight. The glass on a 150 is thick it can hold those rocks without egg crate right???

I have not yet used egg crate.... And i have put larger rocks in.. THough I am not going to suggest that you put them in with out egg crate.. :) It's you house your carpet and your water damage should you choose to do something you are not comfortable with :)..

I personally have had 40-50 lace rock.. but different rocks have different pressure points. Cause my laarge lace rock was spread once pice about 3-4 feet over the tank.. But egg crate shouldn't be hard to put in even with sand :) YOu should be able to push it diagonal down into the sand and then push like a shovel.. :) But you should als even be able ESPECIALLY with sand to push it flat right through the egg crate.. :) sand is small and the whole in the egg crate comparatively are large :) Kinda like grating cheese :) COuldn't hurt to try so you can sleep at night :)

Even still it should be fine without ...
