with a glass tank do u silicone the sides to the sides of the bottom glass or to the top of it? I was using the garf thing and it told my for a tank 60x36x24 that the bottom was to be cut 59 1/4 " confused me. im thinking about attempting a glass tank instead of a ply tank. i was going to build a ply tank 5x3x2 but its a lot cheaper to do it in glass. I can get 12mm glass for $3.80sqft x 47 and its the same cost as the plywood. And I won't have to worry about 3 gallons of liquid rubber.

It doesn't really matter all that much. You can do it either way and you will be fine.

I've done it both ways. If you use the garf cutouts, you should put something underneath the bottom piece to raise it off the ground a bit during assembly.
