Glass tank divider advice?

Hi, I'm a relatively new turtle parent and just got a 75 g glass tank to give Shelly some more room. I'd like to divide the tank so that there is a small dry land/nesting area on one end. I've heard glass is better than acrylic in a glass tank. I was wondering if people just use window glass or do you try and find annealed glass or even tempered glass? Also anything specific to make the top edge less sharp?

I’ve done cheap acrylic cut to size dividers in my tanks from Lowe’s. But I don’t keep turtles. Only fish.

I ended up going to a custom glass place and got 1/4" annealed glass. They made nice safe edges for me. Cost over $40, though.
