Panaque Paradise
Hello,

I currently have a Deep Sea Aquatics 225 (72x27.5x27.5) and I LOVE it. However I am buying a house in 9 months. We already know the house we are buying and it has plenty of room for an upgrade. I will be keeping the 225 and adding a bigger tank. The whole time I have been planning on using Midwest Customs for an 8x3x30" acrylic tank. However I have now turned my tank into a panaque playground. I have 5 panaque species in there and plan on acquiring atleast one of all the larger growing species. My L191 is already over 9" the rest are 4-8" and this pretty much rules out acrylic. I am deadest on the 8x3x30 but will now be getting glass I guess. OTHER THAN GLASS CAGES who makes custom glass aquariums and ships? And any 1st hand feedback would be great.
Josh

Marineland makes a 300 DD which isnt quite as big but has nice features like black silicone and starphire glass by a solid company with good warranty if you buy their stand too

I actually almost got this instead of the DSA. It's just literally 2 feet to short. They are 6x3x27 I believe. This will be my option if I have to settle. The place my wife bought the 225 loves selling marineland tanks. I also bought my 120 from them too. Any other options?

AGE (acrylic and glass exhibits) aquariums of Texas makes glass, glass acrylic hybirds, steel framed glass and many more styles. I have never used or seen one of their tanks in person, but they look good.(maybe someday) They don't sell direct to public, but you can use their search for a dealer near you. Why not Glass Cages? I've heard all the bad reviews, but my 300 wide from them is an awesome well built tank.

I just don't trust them on a tank this big. I've had a 220 explode. I would rather not go through that again. Most of their tank failures are on their larger tanks. Plus if I'm paying for a new tank I don't want to have to clean up the silicone once I receive it

I forgot about CTC. They arent cheap but seem to know what they are doing. Be sitting when you go over the price quote though

When I was shopping for a custom tank 2 years ago, my LFS said Marineland was doing custom tanks again. Not sure if that is still the case, but I did get a custom Marineland order form from them at the time.
