hi,
I live in new delhi, i have decided to order a tank of 6feet by 3 feet by 3 feet, it will be around 400 gallons, i wanted to know what thickness of glass to be used 8mm or 12mm, also what filter would be recommended , here only chinese & japanese pumps are available, please advice..........

Hi,

I would say neither... From what i understand 24" is about the max height for 10mm glass and for something like 36" i'd imagine 15mm at least. With regards to filters i think that's something of personal preference for example my current tank uses a couple of external canisters but the 8x2x2 that's on order will use a sump based wet/dry filter.

Cheers
T.J

I would go with 19mm.

I would go with 19mm. and as far as filters. I like my fluval fx5. but also like how my sump was able to keep the tank clean. it really depends on your preference and what you can find or order online. but like the foot print. but i am not liking tall tanks. a real pain to clean once there past 30 inches.

16mm min but to be safe go 19mm your gonna have fun moving that tank even in 16mm glass your looking at 350kg for the tank alone
