I have two options of glass sizes. I am hoping to establish the maximum height i can go for each thickness on a fully braceless/rimless tank if somebody could please help.
Presume i am going to be filling it to the brim, or, that we are discussing maximum water level (it is a 4-5' tall palludarium design with a fixed water level, in other words part filled.).
Glass options: 12mm (1/2") or 15mm (5/8") float glass, possibly a low iron front panel.
Footprint (LxW): 1830x915mm (6'x3'/72"x36")
I have made my own calculations with a safety factor of 7.1, and looked at the ADA tanks for reference, but it would be valuable to get some real world feedback from people who have built similar sized rimless tanks. I am concerned about bowing, but getting the most out of the available glass thickness is equally important since i have a supply issue and may have to build around glass availability.
Thanks for reading.
