i'm picking up a freebie 150g tank tomorrow in great shape. i'm just looking to see what the thickness of the glass might be. i'm guessing 1/2" but not sure. does anyone have a 150g (72 x 18 x 28)? if so what is the thickness of glass and manufacturer?

my 150 is 7/16" thick and the same dimensions as you listed. i dont know but i think its a perfecto tank. very strong, i have some nice sized chips in it and its holding up well.

There are a lot of variables your having to look at here. Such as brand, tempered or non tempered. What difference does the glass thickness make for you? I hope that doesn't sound bad I am just curious as to why you need to know or care what the thickness would be.

no offense taken. just wondering cuz i haven't seen it yet and i'm trying to figure out if i need one or two friends to help move it. and i didn't know the thickness and, well you know, curiosity killed the cat.

I have a 180 and you need at least 2 people to move the beast. Generally speaking it depends on the muscle you have (friends and you) on how many you need. I find over 2 people it tends to get crowded.

2 people moved my 150 alone, but it was very heavy i would guess around 400lbs. it can be done with 2 strong people but i warn you your fingers will hurt.:nilly:

We moved our 1/2" thick glass 150...(4' x 2' x 2.5') with just two people.

you could save your fingers, if you can find a place to rent those glass pump suction cups that they use for lifting pains of glass in place. Those can give you the grip where you really need it and make it easier for moving. I would say you would need 2 per mover.

yeah i know i need at least two. my 125g is too awkward to carry myself. i'm strong enough with the weight just don't have 8' arms...lol

all moved. just the two of us got it and moved it to the second story
