im building a new tank its 60"x40"x24". i know 1/2" glass is ok for the side panels, what about the bottom? is 1/2" okay or should i go with 5/8" glass?
price different between 1/2" and 5/8" is quite significant and how wide i can go max with 1/2" glass?

it will be a bare bottom tank with driftwood only or maybe i will put some tiles on bottom.

thanks for the advice.

i did check with those calculators, but i read through others tank setup i found some go with 5/8" base for 3' wide tank. i just want to make sure if it's safe. thanks

The 1/2" gives you a safety factor of 3.8, which is pretty good. You should be fine.

Same to you! Enjoy the Holiday.
