What is the required thickness for a 24" tall glass tank?

so scott, I'm about to build a 72 long 36 deep and 24 high - according to you 3/8 is sufficient ?! ammm not so much.

doomiedee - how long is the tank going to be ? for my diy glass tank that's in the projects, I will be using 1/2 glass. ( will have the same height as you asked about )

I am building a few 8 x 4 x 2 tanks from 12 mm (1/2" ) glass over next month.

Though 8mm would suffice, I decided to go with higher to account for loss of bonding area due to beveling (1.5mm each side).
