I was doing a water change on my 210 when I lifted the corner of my glass top to reach in and move a powerhead around when it fell in and hit a high piece of driftwood and shatted into a 1000. I pulled out all my colorquartz sand. pain in the ass. I guess i have to toss all this sand away now. hopefully there isnt any small shards in the tank that my ray will find.

Owww tough luck there. Another reason why Plasic tops are better in a non-planted tank.

How are the rays? did they get injured?

I have gotten away from glass top and use lights to cover my tanks.

If it shattered into all those little pieces, then the glass was probably tempered... was it? If it was tempered, the pieces won't cut your rays up... although it would be problematic if they swallowed some.

I have seen people stand on tempered glass. If it broke that easily, I would say it is not tempered.

It was tempered, they are factory glass tops and i did feel the glass and it was not sharp. everything in the tank is doing good and there should not be any glass in the tank because I took out every grain of sand out. Its just a pain in the ass. I had my tank looking good aquascaped out. I was just doing a quick water change and had to do all that work. I have already got a top made for 10 bucks at a glass shop and luckly I have some spare bags of colourquartz sitting around. Anyone think the other sand mite be salvageable after sifting or dont take the chance.
